Helmholtz Imaging “Best Scientific Image Contest 2025”: Three awards for IPS scientists
Best Scientific Image Contest of Helmholtz Imaging highlights the quality, creativity, and scientific value of image-based research across the Helmholtz Association, showcasing the outstanding expertise and technological depth within the Association, but also emphasize the important role of advanced imaging in addressing major societal and environmental challenges.
We are pleased to announce that Jenny Hein & Thomas van de Kamp received three awards for their contribution “A Bark Beetle’s Stellar Gut”, that was honored with 1st Place (Participants’ Choice Award (shared)), 2nd Place (Jury Award) and 3rd Place (Public Choice Award).
The image featured A 3D synchrotron scan revealing the star-shaped foregut of a bark beetle – a stunning look into insect inner morphology.
